"Ich leide unter einer Essstörung..." Diesen Satz formulierte ich Anfang 2017. Ich habe es meinem Tagebuch lange verschwiegen. Oder habe ich es mir selbst verschwiegen? Leider mangelt es heute immer noch an Verständnis für diese psychische Erkrankung. Vielen Betroffenen fällt es deshalb meist schwer, offen und ohne Scham über ihre Magersucht zu sprechen. Die oft mangelnde Krankheitseinsicht der Betroffenen erschwert zusätzlich eine Kommunikation über die Essstörung. Mit diesem Ratgeber möchte ich der Stigmatisierung und dem Unwissen gegenüber der Anorexia nervosa entgegenwirken. Ich stelle meine eigenen Krankheitserfahrungen und meinen erfolgreichen Genesungsprozess in Kombination mit wissenschaftlich fundiertem Wissen zur Magersucht dar. Erkrankten, nahen Angehörigen, Vertrauten aus dem sozialen Umfeld, Lehrer:innen und (angehenden) Fachleuten gebe ich verständliche Ratschläge zum Umgang mit der Krankheit an die Hand. Weitere Unterstützung bietet eine übersichtliche Auflistung von verschiedenen Internetadressen. Ich möchte anschaulich über die Anorexia nervosa aufklären sowie zur Therapiemotivation und zu weiteren Auseinandersetzungen mit diesem Thema anregen.
