Description
When her mother scolds her for coming home covered with dog bites, Hisa has nothing to say for herself, but then a neighbor woman comes in carrying her baby and explains that when a big black dog came into the garden and started attacking the baby, Hisa threw herself over the baby to save it. Later, when a boy falls in the river and almost drowns, his father suspects Hisa of pushing him in until the boy tells his mother that Hisa jumped in the river to try to save him. Then Hisa disappears during a storm, and after her disappearance a bright new star appears in the sky. Whenever the villagers see such a star they call it "Hisa's Star".
