Son treinta relatos breves en los que descubrimos, en un lapso de cuarenta años, el periplo viajero y mental de un escritor que reflexiona sobre su oficio y que, además, muestra lo que de su pluma va brotando. Todo ello enmarcado en las distintas iluminaciones que, al modo zen, ese viaje hacia atrás y hacia adelante le va proporcionando: caminatas, trayectos de metro, (des)encuentros sentimentales, escrituras privadas. En uno de los relatos hay una verdad absoluta: el cuerpo puede situarse en un tiempo y la mente en otro, constatando que habitamos un puro presente. El satori, en el budismo, quiere regalarnos justo esa revelación.
