《当心理咨询遇上传统文化》是心理咨询与传统文化两个领域推荐入门读本，也是传统文化爱好者打开心理咨询大门的入门教材。本书回答了两个困扰中国心理咨询领域的核心问题：一是东西方心理咨询技术的差异；二是东方心理咨询技术的优越性。东方咨询是境界取向，通过提升境界，带到没有问题的地方。作者以冰山来比喻境界取向与问题取向的差异。东方心理咨询是通过提高水温来融化冰山，从而在根本上解决心理问题。西方咨询是通过制作不同的工具把冰山砸碎来解决心理问题。一旦条件合适，大大小小的冰山又会出现。需要不断的采用各种工具砸碎冰山。中国传统文化和传统中医认为，人的心理和生理根本上是一体的，追求心身合一的境界。 西方心理咨询技术把焦点局限在解决问题上，没有看到更深层次的东西——境界问题，问题就会层出不穷。往更深的地方走就需要东方的思想。该书内容丰富，逻辑清晰，行文流畅。
