《中国古代政治传播研究》的主旨是自觉地以政治传播的学科意识对中国古代政治统治中的重要政治传播现象展开比较系统的初步研究，力求比较全面地展现其面相、揭示其特点，并在此基础上总结中国古代政治传播的现代启示，努力为中国特色政治传播理论体系的建立提供历史资源，为中国当代的政治传播实践提供经验借鉴。
