Description

(Chinese traditional culture is extensive and profound. Its core—the idea of thoughts and values is shining everywhere. The history of Chinese culture is actually the history of ideological evolution of intellectual elites of the upper class. In Chinese traditional society, intellectuals were the masters and practitioners of thoughts. Intellectual elites of the upper class were the essences of the world of thoughts. Once the essences enter the society, they would not only dominate the politics, but also truly dominate the life. Those universal, open and philosophical and typical thoughts and ideas among them were constantly materialized, destructed or reconstructed by thinkers and interpreters of past dynasties who are based on reality and then gradually precipitated into the core of Chinese culture through the practice of people at all classes. This is because ancient idea that “A man who excels in learning can be an official” and the triune system of education, examination and being officials make Chinese intellectuals become officials to govern people of certain places with their knowledge and ideological ideas if they are in success; live in certain places to impart knowledge and educate people, cultivate themselves and personal integrity, or civilize the people with their own accomplishment and values if they are in poverty. Therefore, embracers of elite thought are not only in the stratum of intellectuals, but also among the high officials, noble lords and common people. It was constantly sublimated in practice.)
