标准涵盖交流设备、直流设备及线路材料三大类。交流设备部分包括：电力设备（交流部分）监造大纲、电力设备（交流部分）抽检大纲，电力变压器、组合电器等8类交流设备的监造作业规范，配电变压器、电压互感器等17类交流设备的抽检作业规范；直流设备部分包括：电力设备（直流部分）监造大纲，电力设备（直流部分）抽检大纲，换流变压器、晶闸管换流阀等7类直流设备的监造作业规范，直流控制保护设备、直流隔离开关等17类直流设备的抽检作业规范；线路材料部分包括：电力线路材料监造大纲、电力线路材料抽检大纲，电力电缆、电力金具等6类材料的监造作业规范、角钢塔、线路绝缘子等9类材料的抽检作业规范。其中“大纲”对产品质量监督工作提出了具体要求，明确了“应该做什么”，包括适用范围、规范性引用文件、术语和定义、一般规定、对实施单位和人员的要求、相关单位的职责和权限、工作组织模式、见证项目等内容；“作业规范”主要是将各种作业的程序、标准进行细化，规范作业人员行为，解决现场具体工作的方式方法，包括对产品监造和抽检过程的前期工作、见证项目要点、见证方式、见证依据、后续工作、标准化信息报送表单等。
