Nechala jsem svou první lásku být, držela jsem se vzpomínek a žila jen pro ten den, kdy se znovu shledáme. Když se mé přání konečně splnilo, vůbec to nebylo tak, jak jsem si představovala. Když jsem se rozhodla přijmout práci chůvy, nemohla jsem tušit, že to budou jeho děti, o něž se budu muset starat, a že mým novým šéfem bude právě ten kluk, kterého jsem kdysi znala. Ten kluk, z něhož byl nyní muž – chladný, osamělý, odtažitý muž. Jeho sladký úsměv i nakažlivý smích, jež jsem kdysi tolik milovala, zůstaly už jen vzdálenou vzpomínkou. Potýkal se se silnými pocity smutku a bolesti ze ztráty. Když si uvědomil, kdo jsem, donutil mě ke slibu, že budu dělat jenom svou práci a nic jiného než svou práci. Přinutil mě, abych mu slíbila, že se ho nebudu snažit znovu poznat, že se nepokusím znovuoživit vzpomínky, které jsem si celou tu dobu hýčkala. Ale občas jsem v jeho divokých očích zahlédla toho chlapce, jehož jsem kdysi znávala. Viděla jsem toho Greysona, který se usmíval a hlasitě smál, který ukradl srdce mladé dívce. A ani v nejmenším jsem nepochybovala o tom, že za toho chlapce stojí bojovat. Dostala jsem druhou šanci usilovat o někoho, kdo hluboce poznamenal můj život. Mohla jsem jen doufat, že i já jsem dokázala zanechat stopy na jeho duši.
