Description
Mladík Syr’dan přijíždí do bájného Averot’hu jako divák na turnaj čarodějů. Městu vládne Rada čarodějů, Ka’tan, a Mág vládnoucí mocí, které se nic na světě nevyrovná. Syr’dan ještě netuší, že v Averot’hu nalezne kromě zábavy také lásku, nenávist a možná i smrt. Z nebe se jako supi snášejí Ka’tani a unášejí lidské oběti, zatímco jejich vůdce, zrádný Spálený čaroděj, intrikuje proti lidem i králi. A samotný Mág vyzve Syr’dana na souboj, v němž může zůstat naživu jen vítěz... Jiří Mazurek (1974) patří k nové generaci spisovatelů české fantastiky, přičemž za relativně krátkou dobu publikoval množství kvalitních povídek. V časopise Ikarie mu vychází především science fiction (Živé barvy, Mrakodrap, Coaldový důl aj.), v Pevnosti zase fantasy (Oči Mag’rebu, Vyzvědač). Kromě toho je také autorem sci-fi příběhu pro mládež Želes (2007) a dvou rytířských fantasy románů Legenda o Rennardovi (2009) a Legenda o Garonně (2009; Cena Karla Čapka), které vyšly pod hlavičkou Edice Pevnost.
