Oczami tej dziewczyny oglądamy życie polskich katolików, szwedzkich protestantów, ateistów, miłośników natury, zdeklarowanych kosmopolitów i beznarodowców szukających korzeni i tradycji. Z perspektywy „kosza na śmieci” przyglądamy się zwyczajom i nietypowym ciągotom seksualnym, przemocy i namiętnościom, pragnieniu władzy i obsesji robienia kariery, wzlotom i upadkom ludzi zarówno sławnych, jak i zwyczajnych, temu, co w „typowych” domach skrywa się pod powierzchnią „normalności”. Przygody sprzątaczki pakującej się w życiowe tarapaty po obu stronach Bałtyku to opowiedziana z ironicznym dystansem pikareska, która doprowadzi bohaterkę do samej siebie. Od autorki Ja w pisaniu i czytaniu wierzę ciału i kiedy czytam coś dobrego, to wzbudza to we mnie dreszcz. A o dreszcze w literaturze chodzi. Grażyna Plebanek
