Po wydaniu ostatniej mojej książki Oranżeria rodziny Williamsów jestem winien Wam, Drodzy Czytelnicy, słowo wyjaśnienia. Chciałbym nową książką Spotkanie po latach wyjaśnić, jak doszło do stworzenia moich głównych bohaterów Anny i Piotra Balickich, którzy zapewnili Wam do tej pory przeżycie wielu zaskakujących wrażeń i sytuacji. Pomimo że książka Spotkanie po latach została napisana jako pierwsza wiele lat temu, dopiero teraz zdecydowałem, że powinna ona ujrzeć światło dzienne, by ukazać szerokiej rzeszy czytelników literackie narodziny Anny i Piotra. Niełatwo mi było podjąć tę decyzję. Książka w większości oparta jest na faktach dotyczących mnie samego i wydarzeń, które miały miejsce w Polsce, a także w Australii na przestrzeni kilku dziesięcioleci. Tu narodzili się i stawiali pierwsze kroki bohaterowie moich książek. W czasie kolejnych wspólnie przeżytych lat upodobnili się oni do słynnych detektywów, którymi zachwycają się do dzisiejszego dnia miliony fanów Agathy Christie i sir Artura Conan Doyle’a. Anna i Piotr nie zamierzają spoczywać na laurach. Mają wiele do zrobienia nie tylko w Polsce czy Australii, ale także na innych kontynentach, wybawiając z kłopotów liczne dystyngowane osobistości, łącznie z tajlandzkim dworem królewskim. Ich nieugaszony, gorący zapał do rozwiązywania kryminalnych łamigłówek ma początek w historii, którą widzicie Państwo przed sobą. Janusz Brzozowski
