En el año 2092 en un Madrid distópico, después de una tercera guerra mundial en que el mundo ha quedado devastado, Nico se encuentra encerrado en un búnker bajo tierra, con la única compañía de una conciencia informática implantada en su cerebro que pretende adueñarse de su voluntad y su cuerpo. Se trata de un joven depresivo pero muy ingenioso, prácticamente un Leonardo da Vinci moderno, que desarrolla sus propios métodos de subsistencia y que mantiene sesiones psicológicas con dicha conciencia informática, la inteligencia artificial que intenta saber todo sobre la III Guerra Mundial. Cuando finalmente sale de su búnker descubre que hay más supervivientes y se embarcan en una aventura para liberarse de la opresión de las élites que habían llevado al mundo a esa situación mediante, entre otras cosas, la implantación de estas conciencias informáticas en los cerebros de la población. En esa aventura se toparán con criaturas de origen extraterrestre y tendrán que evitar a los androides de las élites del poder que aún siguen controlando el mundo
