Este libro es continuación y complemento de "La ruta de la salvación -1953- De Las Hurdes a Cataluña". En síntesis, el autor ha culminado una fase anterior de recopilación y narrativa aportando la auténtica realidad de unos orígenes y, especialmente, el principio de la historia de una familia cuyo patriarca es hijo de casa cuna, acogida y adopción y cuya crianza se establece en una zona rural con escasos recursos, a la que había que dedicarle horas y más horas de esfuerzo en busca de la necesaria supervivencia, en muchos supuestos anclada en el pasado y ligada a todo tipo de limitaciones. Esta segunda parte indaga y amplía la investigación de una serie de antecedentes clave, para conocer una trayectoria que permita destacar el reconocimiento a un pueblo orgulloso, donde el honor y la dignidad protege una vida de esfuerzo y silencio. También, se reflexiona acerca de una serie de aspectos y anécdotas de diferentes períodos, algunos de ellos inolvidables. Si innegable es un pasado complicado y difícil, cierto es que la evolución de los pueblos y el progreso también ha permitido que la modernización alcance a lugares inhóspitos y alejados de las grandes ciudades. En el momento actual, contemplar a la vez que observar una Extremadura eminentemente agrícola y ganadera repleta de historia y de arte y vivir una Cataluña hermosa, diferente y universal nos lleva a la hermandad de dos pueblos distintos, autónomos y una filosofía de vida cambiante que nos lleva a determinar que los lugareños reúnen una serie de características que los diferencian, pero sin que esta diferencia los separe. Al final, la hermandad es la hermandad de los pueblos que caminan hermanados en busca de una unión que acoja tradición e historia.
