¤Recinto arqueológico de Pompeya, julio de 2014.¤ La joven arqueóloga Julia encuentra, con ayuda de su amiga Clara, un hallazgo insólito: las cartas de la esclava Niobe en una tumba de la Necrópolis de la Puerta de Herculano. Grandes secretos y apasionados encuentros sucederán en Pompeya y envolverán la vida de la joven esclava y la de todos aquellos a los que ella ama justo antes del suceso más aciago que pudo ocurrir en aquella urbe: la erupción del Vesubio en el verano del año 79 d.C.
