Este libro electrónico pretende servir de presentación a los conceptos básicos de la electrónica de potencia, intentando explicar las técnicas típicas de transformación de energía y los circuitos que las implementan. Cada circuito de este libro se ha explicado cualitativamente con la intención de no dar nada por supuesto. Aquellos más representativos se analizan matemáticamente, mostrando las ecuaciones que permiten obtener sus parámetros relevantes y explicándolas paso a paso, sin omitir detalles. Las simulaciones incluidas (imágenes vinculadas) en este libro son un recurso didáctico, ya que facilitan la asimilación de los conceptos básicos explicados. Asimismo, permiten al lector desarrollar la comprensión de la materia mediante la manipulación de las simulaciones, permitiendo adquirir conceptos avanzados del desarrollo de circuitos electrónicos de potencia. Aunque hay excepciones, éstas deben utilizarse como referencias para montajes reales. Los elementos que incluyen representan el modelo mínimo funcional de cada uno de los circuitos expuestos.
