Algunas personas podrían pensar, que este libro es uno de los muchos libros que se han editado sobre la Guerra Civil Española, pues bien, a los que piensen así, les digo, que están muy equivocados, ya que este libro no ha sido escrito con datos de otros o documentos de archivo, éste lo ha sido, basándome en los documentos, notas y conversaciones mantenidas, a lo largo de los años, con mi padre, el Teniente General D. Alberto Serrano Montaner, quien fue uno de los contados jefes militares que asistieron, el 12 de julio de 1936,, a la reunión que tuvo lugar en el Llano Amarillo (Ketama, Protectorado Español de Marruecos), presidida por el entonces Coronel D. Juan Yagüe, y en la que se tomaron las últimas decisiones para iniciar el Alzamiento militar en el Protectorado, que fue el inicio de la “Guerra Civil Española”, en la que, como se podrá ver en este libro, mi padre jugó un papel muy importante. Por lo tanto, ésta no es una novela histórica sino un libro histórico, que ha sido escrito, no con la intención de que su contenido sea favorable a unos y contrario a otros, sino para que las informaciones que contiene puedan estar disponibles para todos aquellos que decidan leerlo, si bien tiene una segunda intención, que no es otra, que la de revindicar la figura de mi padre en sus vertientes humana y militar, máxime , cuando su carrera militar se vio ralentizada, en grado sumo, a pesar de su brillante expediente militar , el cual no deja duda alguna sobre sus cualidades como militar, siendo su única falta, el haber sido siempre una persona justa y no haber estado nunca a favor de los abusos y los favoritismos , tanto antes como durante y después de la Guerra Civil.
