KALTENMARK expone, en forma breve y clara, las grandes categorías del pensamiento chino, basado siempre en sus tradiciones milenarias: el Tao, el Yin, el Yang, los Cinco Elementos. .., conceptos que ofrecían una visión del mundo jamás replanteada. Tan sólo el Budismo llegó a constituir el único sistema metafísico posterior capaz de plantear una ideología original. La Cultura China, que precisó varios siglos para asimilar el Budismo, ha tenido que absorber las filosofías europeas tan sólo en unos decenios. Sin embargo, aún es pronto para saber en qué medida China no habrá «chinizado» ciertas ideologías occidentales.
