Francisco Reschet, joven falangista de origen alemán, ve interrumpido sus estudios con la llegada de la Guerra Civil, en la que tomará parte como voluntario de la Segunda Bandera de Sevilla. Sus deseos de continuar los estudios universitarios se verán truncados nada más terminar la guerra. Su aspecto germano y el hablar tres idiomas a la perfección, hacen que el incipiente servicio secreto español se fije en él. Tras un periodo de entrenamiento y preparación, le encomiendan las primeras misiones: asistir al viaje del reichführer Heinrich Himmler y la entrevista entre el general Franco y Adolf Hitler en Hendaya; pero la misión más importante de su vida tendrá lugar en Tánger. El 14 de junio de 1940, en cumplimiento del régimen internacional autónomo de Tánger, las fuerzas del Ejército Español entran en la ciudad; España la reclamaba desde 1909. Allí sería enviado Francisco Reschet, bajo la falsa identidad de jefe de correos, para recuperar unos importantes documentos robados al gobierno, que podían provocar la entrada de España en la Guerra Mundial. Estamos ante una novela rápida y ágil, donde se suceden trepidantes acciones de espionaje y combates, junto a una historia de amor.
