Le splendide produzioni di Diaghilev negli anni 1910 e 1920 portarono alla ribalta grandi ballerini e coreografi, scenografi e musicisti come Karsavina, Nijinsky, Fokine, Bakst e Stravinsky, diventati un riferimento imprescindibile per l'evoluzione del balletto moderno. Sacre du printemps, Petrouchka, Parade e Ode - e in particolare i balletti che debuttarono proprio a Montecarlo, come Narcisse e La Chatte - rivivono attraverso scenografie, costumi, dipinti, sculture, fotografie, edizioni pregiate, programmi, documenti d'archivio e di cultura materiale: gli straordinari artisti che affiancarono Diaghilev, come Anisfeld, Bakst, Benois, De Chirico, Delaunay, Derain, Golovin, Goncharova, Larionov, Picasso, Roerich e Tchelitchew, crearono una nuova coreografia e una nuova danza per grandi ballerini come Fokine, Karsavina, Nijinsky, Pavlova e molte altre stelle del balletto.
