Richard è un ragazzo inglese che ama i viaggi, i videogame e i film sulla guerra del Vietnam. Richard parte alla ricerca della spiaggia in compagnia di due amici. L'isola è di fronte a lui, carica di interrogativi: è veramente il luogo che aveva tanto desiderato?
