Il volume ha lo scopo di orientare e preparare coloro che vogliono partecipare al concorso o al reclutamento per Allievi Agenti del Corpo della Polizia di Stato. La parte I del testo orienta il giovane nel mondo della Polizia di Stato, su come intraprendere la carriera, gli sviluppi della stessa ed i requisiti che occorre possedere. La parte II del volume rappresenta un'assoluta novità nel suo genere riportando una serie di "pillole di cultura" per ciascuna materia oggetto della prova scritta d'esame con lo scopo di mirare, sintetizzare e facilitare lo studio del candidato, senza addentrarsi in inutili e complesse argomentazioni. La "composizione delle pillole" scaturisce da un attento esame delle domande contenute nelle banche dati pubblicate dalle Amministrazioni di Polizia nei precedenti concorsi. Presenta, inoltre, numerosi quesiti e delle simulazioni d'esame. La parte III fornisce parametri di valutazione per le prove dell'efficienza fisica, la descrizione degli accertamenti psico-attitudinali unitamente a consigli su come affrontare il colloquio psicologico. Comprende la trattazione dei test di personalità (MMPI, Rorschach, Z-Test, Taleia 400, biografico, questionario informativo, ecc.) e test attitudinali, che consentono di esercitarsi per il raggiungimento di un livello di preparazione ottimale. Inoltre, si occupa degli accertamenti psico-fisici attraverso la descrizione delle visite mediche e del regolamento concernente i requisiti di idoneità.
