Il testo si prefigge di fornire un contenuto didattico valido per la preparazione alla prova preliminare e si compone di due parti. La Parte I fornisce indicazioni circa i compiti istituzionali dell'Arma dei Carabinieri, la figura dell'Ufficiale, le sue funzioni e le prospettive di carriera, il concorso e le prove di selezione. La Parte II sviluppa il programma di: lingua italiana, anche sul piano orto-sintattico grammaticale, letteratura ed arte, storia, geografia, ed. civica, matematica - aritmetica, algebra e geometria -, scienze, informatica, capacità di ragionamento, ma in una veste completamente diversa rispetto ai comuni testi presenti sul mercato ovvero attraverso "pillole di cultura" con lo scopo di mirare, sintetizzare e facilitare lo studio del candidato, senza addentrarsi in inutili e complesse argomentazioni oltre a proporre questionari monotematici e delle simulazioni di prove d'esame per l'ammissione ai corsi normali complete di quesiti sulle quattro lingue straniere (inglese, francese, spagnolo e tedesco).
