Description

Special issue of "Translation and Interpreting Studies". This special issue, which will examine the social construction of translation and interpreting in various cultures and historical periods, is intended to serve as a venue for those scholars who participated in the ATISA V Conference, held at New York University in April, 2010, and is dedicated to the above theme, although others working in this area are also welcome to submit manuscripts for review. This issue seeks to highlight a broad variety of approaches based on the sociological study of translation and interpreting, ranging from theoretical and methodological discussion to qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as case studies of specific translator and interpreter groups.
