媒介與性╱別

在資訊與媒介超越時間、地域空間、每日如影隨形的世代裡，我們生活於重重的影像之間，並且不能避免受到它的衝擊和影響，而「媒介與性╱別」（Media, Gender and Sexuality）的討論，牽連更多的是權力的關係：從生產、市場規劃、流通，到消費和大眾接收，媒介如何再現或呈示性別的形構，而受眾又如何接收或抗衡這些形構，是策劃這個專輯的起步點和重要關注。專輯中的研究者都是從自身的地域經驗出發，觀察處身的社會環境及國際氣候，通過跨科際的學術探索，無論是從媒介論述、文化研究，還是從性別理論或社會科學的方法入手，共同探討大眾媒介中有關性別的論題，這裡涉及的媒介有電視、電影、廣告、報紙、雜誌、流行音樂、電子網絡、流行商品、文學書寫與社會論述等，而所謂「性╱性別」的範疇，則涵蓋了有關女性特質、男性特質、同性愛、雙性戀、性別變換和性別易裝等呈示；一方面透過媒介的研究，突現性別議題的重要性及立足點，另一方面，也藉著性別角度的切入，深化和拓大媒介論述的界面。
