El déficit en la formación pedagógica del profesional de salud que ejerce la docencia es evidente, aunque actúe a diario como educador de sus pacientes, fuera de la institución educativa. Este libro revisa las categorías que constituyen el Conocimiento Profesional del Profesor (CPP), incluidas como base teórica de la tesis doctoral en Educación de la autora. Es de destacar que el profesor de ciencias de la salud debe conocer en forma integral a sus estudiantes. También, dominar los contenidos disciplinares y convertirlos en conocimientos enseñables, por conocer el currículo y la normatividad institucional (salud-educación), que son las bases dinámicas del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje-evaluación, en esta área. Esta obra es una invitación para revisar algunos conceptos que favorecen la profesionalización de la docencia y las prácticas formativas. Además, sirve para que dentro de un ambiente humanizado acompañen al paciente y su familia, así como a todo el personal que participa en esta educación.
