本書基於《從預言看世界》(1992年，證主，已斷版)的基本框架和內容，廣泛討論各末世論的主題，例如，以色列的問題、大災難及被提、敵基督、彌賽亞及千禧年等，再添上新內容，如闡釋末世論如何在舊約聖經中孕育，在新約聖經的發展及居間期間等。如此，讀者會有更整全的聖經歷史、符合福音派主流的角度去看末世神學，增添研究的興趣，建立合乎聖經的對天災頻仍時代的回應。
