Pemikir Weberian, memusatkan perhatiannya pada dunia kesadaran manusia yang unik dan subyektif, di tengah masyarakat dunia yang dinamis dan kompleks. Buku ini mengajak pembaca, merekonstruksi secara kritis tiga aliran ilmu sosial. Ketiga mazhab itu adalah aliran konsensus, konflik dan aliran yang peduli dengan dunia kesadaran manusia. Dunia adalah produk kesadaran manusia. Meski kesadaran manusia juga merupakan produk dunia di mana manusia berada.
