1990年1月,森林小學突破法規限制,獨立辦學,
1999年6月,立法院三讀通過《教育基本法》,
迄今,不打不罵、以人本教育為理念實踐的森林小學,
三十年來,總有人以為森林小學是一所學生擁有絕對自由,
三十年來,總有人以為森林小學的孩子,在升學的路上,
殊不知,根植於台灣文化,森林小學,從來不是「化外之民」;
森小的教學,深入台灣不同的族群文化、自然山林,
森小的孩子,進入體制內國中,他們,也成為教育改革的種子,
三十年來,森小的工作團隊,和台灣每一所學校的教育工作者一樣,
要面對來自孩子的各種挑戰,
以及,不夠開放的傳統教育加諸大人自身的限制。
因而,森林小學的教學環境裡,成長的,不只是孩子,還有教師。
因為,孩子們從來不會停止他們的提問;
因為,森小的老師從來不會拒絕孩子的提問;
森小師生之間的問與答,
從第1學期到現在第63學期,從來沒有停止過。
不只在課堂上,也在生活中,未來,還會繼續……
