自2000年開始至晚近，台灣劇情片興起了多位新銳女導演，這一群青年女導演於七０年代前後出生，如王毓雅、曾文珍、周美玲、李芸嬋、陳芯宜、陳映蓉、鄭芬芬、傅天余等八位。這些新興女導演有的從紀錄片、短片創作開始，轉而投入電影劇情片的創作；亦有一開始便從事劇情片的拍攝；有的則是藝文、編劇出身。短短十年之間，一群新生代女導演脫穎而出，這是台灣電影工業未曾有過的現象，本書前半部針對這些新興女導演的劇情文本、與其女性身分的發聲為研究討論之對象，聚集了相關領域的學術同好彼此交流對話。後半部更訪談了多位女導演的經驗分享，使得學者的文本解讀與創作者的論述兩造之間形成有趣的對話。【秀威資訊科技股份有限公司製作】
