十八世紀，日耳曼地區藉由本地歐洲藝術文化傳承及異地東方中國園林資訊，促進本地園林藝術發展及公共綠地景觀之現代化。十七、十八世紀正逢中國清朝黃金盛世，大量東方報導、中國商品與中國風藝術品進入歐洲市場，影響歐洲宮廷統治者造園理念。日耳曼東部安哈特、德紹侯國王室把園林綠地興建與開明改革政策做連結，藉由中國傳來自然風景園林藝術、造園家天下、園林微觀天下之治國理念，把園林藝術轉化成國家公共綠地建設，帶動本地公共景觀美化與農業經濟現代化。本書以侯國首都德紹郊區王室園林沃里茲園林群為例，探討德紹本地造園藝術家們如何把中國風園林轉化成德國園林一部分，開創新園林藝術。
