「心遊萬仞」傳達出創作者不受現實所拘，馳騁幻想，超越時空限制的精神境界。而創作者究竟是以何種觀看角度、模式看待物色，又如何觀物取象，再現意識想像的文學空間呢？

本書透過詩人洛夫、周夢蝶、楊牧、梁秉鈞、鯨向海的空間寫作，以及女性妊娠書寫的肉身空間，從語言層的譬喻類，觀察創作者如何觀物取象、類比認知，連結周遭物類、人事、相互組織的空間部署，並涉及作者存在情境與實存的社會文化。
