法文系教授，同時也是美國麻州賽門岩巴德學院(Bard College at Simon's Rock)食物研究中心總監。著有《法國飲食文化：食譜、習俗與議題》（Food Cultures of France: Recipes, Customs, and Issues），《醬汁的符號學：義大利麵醬汁的國家認同與命名》（Semiotics of Sauce: National Identity and Naming of Pasta Sauces），《法國食物與脈絡與國家認同：法式清湯、起司舒芙蕾和法國性》（French Food Texts and National Identity: Consommé, Cheese Soufflé, Francité）等書。
