羅馬人，曾為專門介紹義大利紅酒與美食的暢銷雜誌《紅蝦》（Gambero Rosso）工作。目前是紐約市新公眾參與學校食品研究計劃的副教授兼協調員。他的研究主題是探索飲食與文化政治之間的交互影響，特別是傳統、媒體與設計，，著作包括《咬我：飲食和大眾文化》（Bite Me！Food and Popular Culture）、《盛宴：美國的食品，電影和文化公民》（Feasting Our Eyes: Food, Film, and Cultural Citizenship in the US，與勞拉．林登菲爾德合著）》以及《歐洲烹飪文化概論》（Introduction to Culinary Cultures in Europe）。
