耶利米作犹大的先知超过四十年，期间犹大经历五位君王的统治。亡国之后，耶利米仍一直向百姓传讲神的话。由于耶利米的主要根据地是犹大和耶路撒冷，圣殿在他的讲辞和所记载的事蹟中佔有一定的位置。耶利米向亡国前后的犹大君民发出先知的呼声，他的话语和事蹟之所以得以记录下来，是因为他有一位忠心的伙伴巴录。

「活道」课程把耶利米书共五十二章的内容编成十三课来教授，让学员一方面认识这卷书的内容梗概，另一方面可以掌握这卷书的流程和脉络。
