「活道」系列课程从结合经文的认知和反省入手，让学员通过深入的阅读和回答课文所提供的问题，来清楚地理解经文内容及其写作处境，并藉反思开放心灵，让神的话语转化思想和态度，在所处的环境中实践经文的教导，见证神对人的恩典和大爱。

但以理书在旧约希伯来文圣经中，被列入第三部分「圣卷」（另译「著作」）而不属于「先知书」。它与以斯拉─尼希米记（两卷合成一卷）和历代志（不分上下卷），同属「圣卷」中的第三部分——历史着作类。现在通用的新旧约全书中，但以理书与「大先知书」（先知本来不分大小）同列，这是马丁路德宗教改革之后才有的改变。
