Este livro reúne textos apresentados no evento internacional Quinta Semana de Estudos sobre o Período Helenístico: a Poética Calimaquiana e sua Influência na Poesia Epigramática, realizado na Faculdade de Filosofia Letras e Ciências Humanas e no Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia da Universidade de São Paulo, entre os dias 20 e 23 de setembro de 2017. Trata-se de uma coleção de artigos que discutem aspectos do programa poético defendido na obra supérstite de Calímaco e a influência que exerceram na criação dos epigramas literários a partir do século III a.C. O livro, portanto, apresenta não somente reflexões voltadas à exposição da discussão metapoética empreendida por Calímaco em seus poemas, de modo a defender um estilo de composição, mas também aborda a recepção desse debate nas gerações de poetas subsequentes, incluindo, entre outros, Mnasalcas, Antípatro de Sídon, Meleagro, Marcial, Horácio e Gregório de Nazianzo.
