إنَّ تأمُّلَ أحداثِ هذه الحرب ومراجعةَ مساراتِها وسياقاتِها التي أكملَتْ سبعَ سنواتٍ حتّى كتابة هذه السُّطور، تجعلك تجزمُ بأنَّها حرب الواهمين؛ بدءًا من الحوثيِّ الذي توهّم أنَّه قادر على ابتلاع اليمن كاملًا، بكلِّ ما يحمله من إرثٍ وعمقٍ حضاريين، ومغالبةٍ للأفكار العنصريّة والطائفيّة والمذهبيّة فلم يكنْ له ذلك، مرورًا بعلي عبدالله صالح الذي توهّم أنَّ التاريخ قد يعودُ إلى الوراء فراح يحيك الدَّسائس والمؤامرات، حتى انشقَّت الأرض وابتلعته هو وأوهامه، وبالواهمين الأجانب الّذين اعتقدوا أنَّ بإمكانهم شنَّ حربٍ خلال أسبوعين أو شهر أو شهرين والسَّيطرة على اليمن وشعبه وثروته، فهزمهم التاريخُ والجغرافيا والمنطق والسِّياسة والنَّاس والأطماع، وغرقوا في رمال اليمن المتحرِّكة، وصولًا إلى أولئك اليمنيين المتخاذلين من أحزابٍ وساسةٍ ونُخَبٍ ووجاهاتْ، حين توهّموا أنَّ صمتَهم سيجعلهم في منأى عن آثار الحرب المدمِّرة لكنَّ ذلك لم يحدث. انكسرَتْ كلُّ تلك الأوهامِ وأثبتَ اليمنُ أنَّها عصِيّةٌ على الغزاة والطُّغاة .
