الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاة والسلام على أشرف الأنبياء والمرسلين
سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين، وبعد:
ثعد مهنة الإرشاد من المهن الإنسانية الحديثة نسبيا في المجتمع العربي
وهي من المهن التى نشأت وترعرعت في الغرب؛ وذلك لحاجة هذه
المجتمعات لهذه المهنة بسبب تعدد وتنوع المشكلات النفسية والاجتـمـاعية
التي صاحبت حركة التغيرات الاجتماعية والتكنولوجنه
ويعد الإرشاد نوعا من أنواع العلوم الاجتماعية التطبيقية التي أسهم في
نغوها وتطورها علوم مختلفة كعلم النفس والاجتماع والتربية والاقتصاد
والفلسفة .
ولقد شهدت المملكة العربية السعودية في السنوات الأخيرة ثغوا وتغيرا
كبيرا في مختلف مجالات الحياة شمل هذا النمو والتغير مختلف الجوانب
الصحية والاجتماعية والتعليمية والاقتصادية والتقنية مما أدى إلى وجود
حاجة ملحة لتطوير مهن المساعدة الإنسانية وإعطائها دورا فاعلا وبخاصة
فيما يتعلق بالإرشاد النفسي والاجتماعي ، سواء في البحوث العلمـية التي
تجرى أو في التأليف والنشر في هذا التخصص شديد الثراء والخصوبة .
ولقد أردنا أن نضع خبرتنا في هذا المجال في هيئة نظرية تطبيقية
مستوحاة من البيئة السعودية ليكون - بإذن الله - عونا للممارسين والمهتمين
والآباء والمعلمين وطلاب التخصص .
ولعل من أهم أهداف هذا الكتاب إبراز الجانب التاريخي لمهنة الإرشاد
