Robin Reynolds, the very successful Chicago magazine publisher, and his wife Cia, owner of a food emporium, take one of their vacations to the family's three-generation estate in Bermuda. This time, for Robin, the trip would be more meaningful. He has taken an early retirement by selling his company to a conglomerate. Cia looks forward to returning to Chicago and her store; however, Robin eagerly anticipates what he will do with the second wind of his life. He is adrift in the thought of magnanimously hosting the world's great thinkers in their Bermuda home until he and his wife are dramatically thrown off course. The tug and pull of what must be done to preserve the family home will cause an unimaginable shift in every aspect of their lives for many years.
