It has been compared with the text of the Pure Cambridge Edition of the King James Version Bible, other English translations and versions, scholarly commentary on the Greek text, and contemporary English usage and grammar. This book includes insightful commentary and helpful notes on key words, historical setting, and the Greek text. John, Son of Thunder is conservative and is written in the best traditions of the King James Version Bible of 1611. Anthony Lyons, the author, is a Bachelor of Science in Education graduate of Oklahoma Christian College (University), Master of Science in Political Science graduate of Fort Hays State University, graduate of the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College, and graduate of the U. S. Army War College. He retired in 1997 at the rank of lieutenant colonel of field artillery after thirty-seven years as a deployment asset of the U. S. Army, Kansas Army National Guard, and the U. S. Army Reserve. More recently, Anthony retired from Dodge City Community College where he was an administrator and adjunct professor in history, political science, and Bible for thirty years. He was also an adjunct professor of political science at Saint Mary of the Plains College for four years. Anthony plans to continue to publish books in the 2020 King James Version Bible Series and, he is planning future series': What Does The Bible Say? Due to his interest in southwest American history, Anthony is currently working on a series called The Dodge City Edition, featuring fiction and nonfiction books about the cattle drive era in Kansas and the settlement of the west.
