John, Son of Thunder is a new translation of the Gospel of John in the 2020 Bible Series. This text has been diligently compared with the text of the Pure Cambridge Edition of the 1611 King James Version Bible, other English translations and versions, scholarly commentary on the Greek text, and contemporary English usage and grammar. John, Son of Thunder contains insightful commentary, helpful notes on key words, historical setting, the Greek text, and references to other works. The editor is sound and conservative and has written in the best traditions of the King James Version Bible of 1611. Anthony Lyons is a Bachelor of Science in Education graduate of Oklahoma Christian College (University), Master of Science in Political Science graduate of Fort Hays State University, graduate of the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College, and graduate of the U. S. Army War College. He retired in 2005 with the rank of lieutenant colonel of field artillery after thirty-seven years as a deployable asset of the U. S. Army, Kansas Army National Guard, and the U. S. Army Reserve. More recently, Anthony retired from Dodge City Community College where he was an administrator and adjunct professor of history, political science, and religious studies for thirty years. He was also an adjunct professor of political science at Saint Mary of the Plains College for four years. Anthony has studied, preached, and taught the Bible for more than fifty years in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Republic of South Vietnam, Colorado, Nevada, Texas, Arizona, and Kansas. Anthony plans to continue to publish books in the 2020 Bible Series and he is planning a future series entitled "What Does the Bible Say About..." Due to his interest in southwest American history, Anthony is also planning a series entitled "The Dodge City Edition of..." featuring fiction and nonfiction books about the cattle drive era in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Wyoming and Montana and the settlement of the west.
